Velux light filtering manual blinds.
We were originally contacted by RJI Professionals to replace two existing skylights with Velux FS D06 skylights. A month later, RJI contacted us again to let us know that the homeowner now requested skylight blinds.
After discussing options, single pleated, light filtering, manually operated, white blinds were chosen. This is a fairly simple installation project although the height of the ceilings requires working from a relatively tall ladder. It’s not a job for the timid!

The addition of skylight blinds can increase the overall energy efficiency of your skylight by 45%. In the summer, on high heat/sun days, close the skylight blinds to reduce potential solar heat gain. In the winter, on cold nights, close your skylight blinds to provide an extra layer of thermal insulation to keep warm air indoors.
